It’s an interesting story of how Jason and I met. It was February 2007, my family and I headed up to our favorite ski hill in the whole world, Big Sky Resort. Which happens to be less than an hour from our home in Montana. We almost didn’t go that day...but we did...hoping for great snow the next morning. Upon arriving, we checked into our room and headed for the Summit Hotel’s Lounge for some chicken wings and a beverage. I was introduced to Jason by Steve Merlino, Big Sky Resort’s food and beverage director. Steve has also been promoting and booking some great talent at Big Sky Resort’s many venues. I met Steve and his family a couple years ago during some ski adventures at Big Sky Resort. Steve’s a great person and knows talent when he sees it (or hears it).

Jason was just finishing up his show when we arrived at the Carabiner , but kindly performed a two song encore. What I heard was a raw and organic energy that was truly refreshing and most welcome to hear.

We visited together for awhile passing the guitar back and forth. Weeks later, I invited him to my recording studio to see if maybe we could work on a project together. That we did...the result “Bootleg”, an eleven track vocal and acoustically driven melting pot of images and melodic hooks.

In April 2007, after several years of solo touring Jason moved to Nashville, TN to assemble a touring band and perform in the Nashville area. One of the highlights of those performances was when Jason performed nine days straight before, during , and after the 2007 CMA Festival. Jason and his band The Country Way quickly became a popular show at The World Famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge.

During the late summer and early fall Jason has been touring both solo and with his band the Country Way throughout the Northwestern U.S. and Canada. Days not spent touring on the road were spent in the recording studio working on new material for Jason’s upcoming CD release.

Jason is heading back to Nashville in mid-November to perform and showcase, as well as co-writing with some new friends.
